Did he just use the MOYNIHAN REPORT to defend himself against accusations that he is racist???????

The Moynihan Report?! Ok. This is like Black Studies 101. 

The Moynihan Report is like… the epitome of racist scholarship in America. It was published in 1965 by the Department of Labor and was written by Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a Democratic senator. It basically argued that the Black family structure was deteriorating and was the cause of the deterioration of Black society. And whose fault was it that the Black family was deteriorating? It’s Black women’s fault according to Moynihan. The matriarchal nature of Black society (which, by the way, is a characteristic of many societies in Africa and within the African Diaspora), didn’t allow Black men to assert their “authority” and thus lead to the breakdown of Black families and Black society.

Moynihan labeled ANY BLACK family that didn’t have 2 parents in it as unstable and pathological (let us all forget the fact that some Black families have extended family networks… and how single parenthood is viewed differently in some Black communities.. and how some two-parent homes are unstable and some single parent homes are stable… let’s just ignore all those facts -_- ). To put it plainly, the report is so flawed, it deserves to be used as toilet paper. 

And this is what Gingrich uses to combat the accusations of racism against himself.. a racist who wrote a fifty year old document that was racist and ridiculous even when it first came out.
