We are not asking for you to stop quoting Audre Lorde. We are asking you to stop thinking that your personal relationships with other feminists speak for the entire theoretical field that excluded women of color so much so that they had to write their own feminist musings and explain their life experiences. Maybe you should read those black feminist and latin@ feminist works and works by other feminists of color before you jump to the conclusion that you “feel us” but don’t think that these issues are still relevant. We are also asking that the next time you quote Audre Lorde, you take her quote in its original context and in this case, in the abovementioned quote, the context is precisely what you just argued against. kthxbai.
